Day 156 is cruising along

I love me some lazy sundays. I also love spending the day watching movies and taking life easy for hours on end. So clearly that is exactly what went down today. On our drive home, we were treated to a fantastic view of the needle with some gorgeous clouds in the background. It was pretty lovely, if I do say so myself.

Day 156 can't get enough

Today was the last day of Philly Duofest shows. Me and a few friends had an improv practice session earlier, then afterwards we made our way over to the Shubin Theatre to see a show. Once again, I was very impressed. Are my improv posts getting annoying yet? Well, count your blessings because tomorrow will most likely feature a whiny post about going to work and doing laundry.

Some sweet day 155 treats!

Today's big adventure was going out in search of an apartment for my sis and her new roomie. Apartment hunting is truly its own form of torture, but we lucked out today and had a pretty sweet experience. The potential new apartment is spectacular and also happens to be right next to a bakery that just opened. We stopped in to support the swank small business and had our fill of tasty baked goods and treats. They also do lunch. And bagels. And cupcakes. And wifi. And brownies. Heaven, I say!

Day 155 goes to Duofest

I spent more time than I'd like to admit seeing improv shows today. Four hours. This weekend is Philly's Duofest. The name is rather self-explanatory; it's a bunch of shows featuring duos. Some performers were Philly-based and some came from out of state. After having taken classes, I have a whole new appreciation for improvisers who perform as a duo. You don't have the luxury of taking a break on the back line while someone else does a scene. And if you're having a bad night, not only are you screwed, but so is your partner. Luckily, all the shows I saw were great. I left feeling inspired, which is always a good thing!

Day 154 goes running

Don't ask me why or how, but somehow this morning I was up bright and early for no good reason and felt inspired to go on a run. When I told my sister this her first reaction was, and I quote, "WHAT?! Why?? wtf are you okay?!". I didn't realize running was such a dangerous and strange sport to some. Also, it really wasn't that serious of a run. More of a little heart-pumping excuse to start my day with some cardio and sunshine. No biggie. Bonus: I got a few choice photo ops while I was out. Like this super bad ass truck hiding in a yard. Awesome, right?

Day 154 supports inflation

I went out to dinner with some friends tonight. We were parked next to this smart car. As we got closer my friend starting laughing. Please note the "pull to inflate" decal and handle permanently affixed to the front bumper. At least the owner has a sense of humor about their car selection.

Day 153 won the battle of dinner

So I was gonna post a picture of the incredible, life-alteringly delicious veggie lasagna that I made for dinner tonight. As you can see that didn't happen. Apparently my pictures of lasagna don't end up actually looking like lasagna, but more like a messy plate of sauce and assorted cooked vegetables. It didn't look pretty, but it tasted phenomenal! I'll take my victories where I can. So in lieu of said lasagna pic, here's some of the dinner aftermath. The sis did dishes, per the arrangement made when we were little babes... err... 6 or 7 years old. "Thou who cookeths the meal, shall not have to doeth the dishes." (It was very serious.) So she did dishes, and I watched. :)

Day 153 overlooks Logan Square

I always see this statue when I inevitably get a red light at Race Street on my way home from my improv class. I don't know who it is (I just tried googling - gave up) or what he's doing (other than looking out towards Logan Square). All I know is I always look at his backside at this traffic light. We should be on a first name basis by now.

Day 152 is still recovering

You can never tell how that period post-trip will affect (effect??!) you. This one is really hurting me for some reason. Feeling super groggy with a headache I haven't been able to shake for a few hours. Also no appetite and zero energy or motivation to do anything. In short, I've been in lazy tv watching/napping/bum mode all day. I told myself I'd get this one day of that then tomorrow it's back to getting serious about getting stuff done. Wish me luck!

Day 152 is snowing petals

Even though it was hot and humid for most of the day, it cooled down enough this evening to go for a walk. I typically take the same route around my neighborhood but I went an extra street over today. It was there that I saw hundreds of petals on the lawn and sidewalk in front of a house. They looked like snow - kind of. I hope the humidity and rain keep holding out so I can do more exploring!

Day 151 learned something today

Nothing wipes me out quite like a nice long plane ride. I'm back in seattle, about to crash into bed but wanted to share this first. This is a pic from my little photo/shopping adventure in Chicago this morning. I think its a brilliant little piece of street wisdom. Graffiti, I love you something fierce.

Day 151 is in the closet

I have had a migraine all day and want nothing more than to go to bed. Then I realized I hadn't taken a picture yet. Yikes! This is a partial view of my closet, as I sit on the floor in my bedroom. For those who know me very well, yes, at least seven of the photographed items have never been worn. I figured this shot would be a little more interesting than my blank wall. And less embarrassing than the pile of laundry on the floor.

Day 150 loves this day

It was a HOT one in Chicago today! Our little group walked at least 5 miles around the city today. We hit the zoo, had some time to dip our toes in the lake then grabbed some lunch before we napped our exhaustion away. Much fun was had and I was more than happy about the great weather we had.

Day 150 likes picnics

I just got back from a Memorial Day picnic. Friends, games, good food (entirely too much of it), and drinks -- what more could a girl want? Sometimes at these types of events I'm too in the moment to remember to take pictures. This was taken towards the end of the night as things were winding down and the mosquitoes were acting up. The three day weekend went by way too fast and now it's back to reality!

Day 149 was a good day

Things I loved about today: driving with the windows down, improv practice session, pizza, my improv class show, Stone IPA, outdoor seating, random Philly block party complete with wading pool. I even love this blurry driving picture I took right before I merged onto 95. Today was a good day.

Day 149 got some buckets

There's a huge bucket backstory that I simply dont have the energy the share right now, but trust me, it's amazing. Until I'm ready to share, here's a pic of our party rum buckets from today. Oh hey best BBQ ever.

Day 148 took a look around

I've been taking some time to explore the Lakeview neighborhood. The weather has not been playing nice enough for us to do any fun outdoor stuff yet, so I've been working on relaxing and chilling out while enjoying the city. We did some awesome BBQ shopping today and now I'm super pumped for our grilling action tmw!

Day 148 hits the hay

I haven't gotten adequate sleep in days. The only thing I can think about right now is resting on these pillows and passing out. Before I fall asleep mid-sentence, good night blogosphere!

Day 147 found some tasty treats

We're wrapping up night 2 here in chicago with some tasty cupcakes and Disney karaoke jam sessions. It's all kinds of perfect ESPECIALLY since I've been reunited with my long lost best buddy Amanda C.! We've had our fair share of giggle break downs and lots of catching up. Heaven! Day 147's name in lights

First of all, it's a three-day weekend!! Pardon the excitement, but that needed to be said. Anyway, tonight we went to Princeton. It was jamming, partly because of the lovely weather and partly because of some sort of alumni event at the University. While wandering around the campus we stumbled upon several fenced in and highly guarded areas, that we weren't able to sneak into. There were tents with food and a band performing. They also had these fancy lights with graduation years in front of said fenced in areas. Campus security was not joking around! Though I did see a small child attempting to operate a golf cart. He was driving in reverse. Class of 2028.
