Day 327 celebrates with cupcakes

Today was my mom's birthday! We celebrated with cupcakes from Felix's. Cannoli for me, vanilla for her. Yum! Happy birthday mom :)

Day 167 had a dessert experience

This right here is one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. It's a Cannoli Cupcake from Felix's Caketeria in Newtown. I went during my lunch break with my co-workers. Somehow I had enough self-control to wait until I got back to the office to devour my cupcake. The cake tasted like a sugar cookie - I don't know how this is even possible. The frosting was a rich yet light chocolate buttercream. It was topped with cannoli crust, chocolate chips, and chocolate drizzle. In case this doesn't sound amazing enough, there was a surprise filling. Any guesses? Hint: it's the part of the cannoli I haven't mentioned yet. Yep. It was filled with a perfect amount of cannoli cream. I'm still trying to process the amazing dessert experience I had. Afterwards I kind of felt like I was going to die, but it was totally worth it. I want to take everyone I know to Felix's to sample a treat for themselves.

Day 130 wants a cupcake!

During lunch today we stopped at this amazing little bakery in Newtown called Felix's Caketeria. You can't go wrong with someone named Felix, I've found :) As soon as you walk in the store you're hit by the delicious smell of fresh baked goods. I wanted one of everything, especially the cupcakes. They have your standards like red velvet and carrot cake. There are also some more adventurous flavors like cookie dough and "elvis." Since I would be scarfing down dessert at my desk I ended up getting a decadent peanut butter brownie, which took me the rest of the day to eat. Knowing this place exists just offers one more reason why I need to join a gym. In the meantime, I'll enjoy the cherry sundae cupcake!

Day 128 rocked

Remember that little fiesta I was going to last night? Well I attended and I fiesta'd, and all was well in the world. Here's a pic of the oh so awesome sound system setup we had going on at the party. I took this after midnight, so it can still count as a photo for today, right? I pretty much lounged about all of today, enjoying Sunday and all its lazy goodness so... this felt like the most interesting picture to share. I hope that you all enjoyed your Sunday, wherever you are!

ps. My cupcakes? A hit. This proves my theory that no one can resist the power of cupcakes.

pps. That website I launched yesterday? Well.... you can see here it if you want. :)

Day 127 made it from scratch

I spent most of this afternoon launching a website (!!!) and baking some cupcakes (!!!). Oh hey, best afternoon ever. I'm on my way to a cinco de mayo birthday fiesta. Oh yes, that's right. The awesomeness of cinco de mayo AND a birthday celebration of one on my faves has been combined into one mega awesome party. I decided to bring some beer and homemade cupcakes. There was even homemade frosting being made. Mmmhmm. Go big, or go home.

Day 65, meet Irving.

I went to my friend Ashlee's wedding shower this afternoon. It was a beautiful happy day! Look at these delicious cupcakes and... wait a minute. Who is that adorable little mouse hanging out there? Why, it's none other than Irving Bentley III! For those who aren't familiar with this little guy, he's the official mascot of my college dorm experience. After discovering him amidst Christmas decorations during our sophomore year, my roommates and I couldn't part with him. He's stuck with us even after college and has travelled the world (Greece, France, Spain...)! And this wasn't his first bridal shower.

I've got the keys to Day 28

I super hate fumbling with keys. First of all, it looks like you've never seen your keychain before ("which key is it? is it different from the key i used yesterday?!?"). Secondly it kinda makes it seem like you've never opened a door before ("i could have sworn this was the key! work key, WORK.").

Not sure why I care so much about looking cool as I open a door, but I do. PLUS i saw these at urban outfitters and I was like, get in my shopping cart right now. they are so perfect. no more looking like a crazy person standing in front of closed doors yelling at my keys!
