Day 230 drove through a rainbow!

There were sunshowers on my drive home from work today. It was beautiful! Now, it's very faint, but if you look between my windshield wipers you'll see a rainbow! I had to take a quick snapshot before the traffic light changed. This rainbow (or several rainbows, I'm no meteorologist) practically followed me home. If this mean good luck, I'll take it!

Day 201 blasts the AC

I absolutely love driving with the windows down. Frizzy hair be damned, if it's not raining in the summer, my windows will be down. Today was unbearably hot. Even after dark it must have still been in the 90s. It was so hot and humid, in fact, that I put on the air conditioning while driving home. The next few days will be just as hot, if not hotter, so it looks like I'll be putting my AC to good use.

Day 160 got stuck

There are some days when I have to drive my sister to work and it always requires me waking up at some ungodly early hour of the morning. Today she let me sleep in until 7:15. How generous. After I dropped her off I got stuck at this light for literally an eternity. I aged a year, I'm sure of it. Gray hairs and everything. With all this free time, I decided to take a picture or two. This hill, McClellan, is terrifying. When we first moved her and had to drive it every now and then, I would clench onto the door, close my eyes and try not to pee myself. Seriously. Scary, scary shit. I'm glad I was at the other end of it today and didn't have to drive it. Phew!

Day 149 was a good day

Things I loved about today: driving with the windows down, improv practice session, pizza, my improv class show, Stone IPA, outdoor seating, random Philly block party complete with wading pool. I even love this blurry driving picture I took right before I merged onto 95. Today was a good day.

Day 104 needs some good tunes

I'm almost ready to leave for the wedding weekend extravaganza, but wanted to post first! Since 90s on 9 has been letting me down recently and I don't trust nighttime driving while CD changing, I'm letting my iPod act as the soundtrack to my drive. Fingers crossed that I don't get lost!

Day 102... Only...

Another addition to the "taking pictures at red lights" series! There's tons of construction happening on the road I usually take to get from work to home, so I've been taking a new, somewhat longer way this past week.... and that's about the most exciting thing to happen this week. I know, I know. You're on the edge of your seats. This new 6 minutes of my life have thus far been... ya know.... boring. BUT, it does mean some new picture opportunities so it's not a total loss.

Also, fear not gentle readers. This content will surely get more interesting once I've landed in that great little town called New York. Perhaps you've heard of it?

Day 79 is upside down

Find one thing that is wrong in this picture. Hint: It's probably going to stay this way until the township gets its act together. Bigger Hint: Read the title of this post.

(Safety note: I was a passenger when I took this picture. Though, I wonder if I could've gotten a ticket for driving while photo-snapping...)

Day 53 is outraged

There's no way around it, Seattle is a car town. Errrrrrbody drives. No biggie, that's pretty typical for most of the world, except of course, that little town I just moved here from. Oh, new york. You silly old so and so. So basically not only am I not used to driving but I also always forget about those little things having a car involves. Like washing the car, turning the emergency brake off when driving (only happened once.... okay twice.... oops!), and getting gas. Let's please take this time to discuss gas prices. WHAT?! Are you kidding me with this!! How long have prices been like this?? Man, driving is just the gift that keeps on giving.

Day 48 drives with the windows down

Today marks the first day in months that I've driven with the windows down, albeit just a little bit. The weather was lovely in the low 60s today. Tomorrow will be even warmer and tomorrow is Friday - win win! I'm getting way too optimistic about Spring rapidly approaching... (Sidenote: Yes, that is in fact a McCain/Palin bumper sticker on the guardrail. Silly Yardley!)

Day 34 is blinded by the light

Even with sunglasses I could barely drive in this crazy sun this afternoon. I waited until I parked to take this shot, which doesn't do it justice. I'm just glad it isn't as cloudy and rainy as it's been the last few days. I hope this is just the start of a sunshiney weekend!

Day 19 catches the sunrise

uh oh, another 'driving' pic! Are these becoming repetitive yet? Actually, I think this is perhaps only my second... one more and you guys can start calling me out on it. I had to drive my sis to work this morning and as upset as I was to be quite abruptly woken up so early, I did get to catch a spectacular seattle sunrise on the drive. One that I would have missed if I was still in bed.

Gettin' Lost on Day 5

in today's episode of the chronicles of aislinn, i managed the incredible feat of getting lost while trying to find a fedex that turned out to be 2 blocks from where i started my search.  Oh, cruel cruel world. I know this now because after giving up trying to find this stupidly-close fedex i went home, frustrated and upset, and then decided to google map it. Poor planning and over confidence caused this blunder. This is a pic from my epic fail tonight (while safely stuck at a red light waiting for a train to pass.... yes a train).

The lesson here... the best time to Google map where you're going is before you're wandering around in the dark, lost.
