Day 327 celebrates with cupcakes
Today was my mom's birthday! We celebrated with cupcakes from Felix's. Cannoli for me, vanilla for her. Yum! Happy birthday mom :)
Day 326, push on!
Day 325 likes packing peanuts
Day 324 is a wreck
I was at an event at the PA Academy of the Fine Arts in Philly late into the evening Saturday night. Open bar + silent auction = bad idea. Anyway, when I woke up I realized a took a bunch of photos of this crashed plane sculpture outside of the building. I thought it was amazing, apparently? It did have pink lights inside...
Day 323 staring down the moon
Tonight my friend and I went to this cool bar in Philly, Franklin Mortgage & Investment Company. Yes, that is really its name. It has a Prohibition-era feel and specializes in the art of the mixed drink. My first round, on the right, is a Southside (gin and mint). For my second round I enjoyed a Staring Down The Moon. I can't remember what was in it (other than gin), but it was delicious!
Day 322 got their nails did
My mom and I got manicures tonight. I opted for the more subtle beige/gray color. My mom, the crazy fun teal. It's name? Mermaid tears. She's a badass.
Day 321 is a sad pumpkin
I've found weird things around my office complex - abandoned books, hundreds of cases of contacts and now, this sad albino pumpkin. It wasn't even Thanksgiving yet. Come on!
Day 320 is a ham
Ham, wax beans and potatoes for dinner! Might look kinda gross (I was apprehensive at first), but tastes great.
Day 319 is lucky

You folks are in for a treat! Even though I was already back from Iceland on Day 319, I'm posting a waterfall photo from south Iceland. Basically, I was in a foul mood upon my return, got out of work late, ate dinner and went to bed at 8:30 p.m. Trust me, this is a better photo than my office parking lot.
Day 318 feels blue
Shortly before we made our way to the airport we stopped at the famed Blue Lagoon spa. Amazingly beautiful! Sadly, the weather was a little crazy (super windy and rainy), but the water was still great. Yes, that is the actual color.
Day 316 is relaxed

Fontana spa in south Iceland - probably my favorite part of my trip. First of all, we had the facilities to ourselves before it opened to the public. Awesome. After changing into bathing suits and grabbing robes, we entered the steam rooms built above geysers. Incredible. I probably sweat off ten pounds. Then we stopped in the sauna before slipping into the warm natural mineral waters. So relaxing! The view isn't too shabby either. All day access to the spa - $20. Unheard of! I want to go to there! Again!
Day 315 goes to the opera

On a short tour of Reykjavik, we stopped at a new event space, Harpa. The huge building is home to the opera, concerts, meetings and conventions. The windows have a beautiful effect against the skyline. I love Iceland!
Day 314, or is it?

After a crazy flight, I finally made it to Iceland! My internal time clock was very confused when we arrived early morning, Iceland-time. So technically this photo is a day late. Whatevs. That's the President of Iceland's house! Meeting him (and having pancakes with him) was our first stop after dropping our things off at the hotel. Absolutely no security around the property - crazy huh? Such a beautiful location. We really lucked out with nice weather!
Day 313 was pleasantly surprised!

By now you've all met Irving Bentley III. I received him via Fed Ex today from my friend, in preparation for my Iceland trip. Best surprise ever! Also, fun to explain to my coworker :)
Day 312 returns
...and we're back!
First, an apology to my faithful readers for falling so far behind in posting. New responsibilites at work and a trip to Iceland (starting on Day 314...) have made me crazy busy. Better late than never, right?
Anyway, after returning from a kickball game in Philly I realized the Fundai surpassed 10,000 miles. Sad.

Day 311 isn't what I expected
I bought some knock-off "goldfish" snacks at Target a while back. I busted them out for my own snacking pleasure today. They're called "chickees" and they don't... well.... taste good. Extremely cute to look at, but that doesn't really make for a delicious snack. Any suggestions on what I can do with a box of these to make them better??
Day 310 holy. omg. yes. food.
Sunday brunch. One of my favorite things in all the world. I still think that New York does brunch better than anywhere else, but Chicago can often hit it out of the park. This. This... magic is what happened at my most recent brunch. Some kind of french toast smothered in a sweet sauce, covered in granola and fruit. I'm sorry what? Yes please.
Day 309 finally got around to it.
When there's so much work to do for real clients, my own personal business projects often fall to the bottom of the list. I finally got around to ordering myself new business cards. They came out simply perfectly! A nice, heavy cardstock and a design exactly to my liking. And I ordered enough so that should I not have time for personal projects for another year or so (totally possible), I'll be all set with cards. Woot!
Day 308 is all twisted up in Fall
It's fall for real in Chicago at last. This shot combines two things I'm currently loving - my lovely Chicago neighborhood and fall leaves. It's mysterious and comfy and lovely all at the same time. Simple wonderful.
Day 307 eats. a lot.
I believe my next blog is going to be called "Food I eat", because I seem to (not so) secretly love taking pictures of my food. I had a thai craving the other day, and the only cure was... well... Thai. Specifically crab rangoons which are terribly, terribly bad for you but taste like an explosion of heaven in your mouth. So naturally I ordered some. And they did not disappoint.
Day 311 skirts the issue
I had to be in Manhattan at 8:30 this morning for a work event. Yikes! Too early. I did, however, get to wear a new skirt. I bought this skirt a little while back, but didn't have an occasion to wear it recently. I love the print. With it resting at my waist, I felt a little bit like Joan Harris. All I needed to complete that look was a box of red hair dye and an incompetent doctor husband.
Day 310's boots are made for walking
I've been busy recently, partly, because I'm going to Iceland for work! I'm very excited to go, but have a bunch of stuff to do before leaving. Including buying some cold-weather appropriate clothes, namely shoes. I found these bad boys at DSW. Supposedly they are meant for cold damp weather - perfect. They are super warm. I can't wait to model them on my trip!
Day 309 is in breakfast heaven
Before a day full of errands and more work, my mom and I went out to breakfast. This is my perfect breakfast. Two eggs over medium, home fries, rye toast and a side of pork roll. And grape jelly. I can't forget the grape jelly. I would order this as my last meal if I was ever on death row. Let's hope it doesn't get to that, as most diners can accommodate my pork roll needs.
Day 308 stays in
To cap off my busy/stressful week I decided to stay in on Friday night and get some work done. Party animal, I know. But I rewarded myself with a delicious glass (or few) of Jewish wine. Mazel tov!
Day 307 is autumn again
Autumn! It didn't feel like it for a while there, with the snow. But now autumn is back and I'm enjoying every minute of it, when I have time that is.
Day 306 gives up redux
You can't tell, but this is one half of a huge elephant ear pastry. One half was as big as my hand. And more delicious. I'm letting myself be okay with these technical difficulties. Let's be honest, you aren't checking out my posts for my photography skills. It's for the self-deprecating humor and awkwardness, right?
Day 305 gives up
To say I've been busy and stressed is an understatement. My late posts are still inexcusable. I'm letting you down faithful readers! To make matter worse this effing photo won't load. After four tries, I give up. You can kind of see the flowers I was attempting to capture... Sorry friends!

Day 306 shouldn't have done that....
You want to eat this, right? I know you do. But you can't. I'm sorry. Cause I ate all of it. Yup, an entire medium pizza. Okay now, I split it into a lunch and then a dinner situation. That's respectable right? I'm gonna go with yes... yes, it is. In other related news - my new gym opens in February. But if I'm gonna keep eating pizzas like this I may just have to force it to open sooner.

Day 305 is a pumpkin artist
Look at this artistry. I know what you're thinking, "this is pure brilliance!". I'm a regular freaking Michelangelo you guys. Mine is on the far right. It's angry, cause I gutted it. Makes total sense. And (and!) this is the first time I've ever carved a pumpkin. Thinking about changing careers and becoming a professional pumpkin carver!
Day 304 enjoyed too many treats
Mooooore Halloween! Because the actual holiday was on a Monday and the celebrating started on Thursday, it really feels like the halloween that never ended. Best part: Hocus Pocus on TV all the time and candy. Freaking candy. Did you guys even know they made Halloween peeps? What kind of sorcery is this?? How am I supposed to be expected to not eat this?? Also yes, my jeans are feeling a little tight this week. Too much halloweening.
Day 303 goes on a bike ride
This is a poor iphone picture of a Halloween bike ride that went down Southport. Costumed bike riders for about a mile, if not longer. My neighborhood is so much fun!
Day 302 had a happy halloween!
Halloween is my least favorite "holiday". Holiday is in quotes because I don't know how it even qualifies as that. There's no day off of work, we're not commemorating anyone, we're really just dressing up and drinking our weekend away while in costume. This year, because of the insistence of my roommate, I got a costume and participated in said "holiday". And I actually had a lot of fun. Who knew! This is my crazy roomie and his bf wearing some short shorts as part of their 70's tennis players costumes. Love these crazy kids.
Day 301 treat my self.
It was a long day of photo shoots, errands, commuting, dealing with crazies, etc.... you know the kind of day. Then suddenly it was 4pm and I realized the only thing I'd put into my body that day was a cup of coffee and a banana. No good! I decided to treat myself (Parks & Recs watchers, TREATYOSELF!) to McD's. It's gross, and greasy and will probably take some time of my lifespan, but if that wasn't the most delicious chicken sandwich I'd had in months, I don't know what was. YUM. Here's a pic of my golden fries. You're drooling a little, aren't you?
Day 300 is back!!
What at a looooong absence that was! I'm back and already hitting myself for being so behind on posts. And with just a few weeks left in the project. Eek!
This poor smashed pumpkin was found in the alley behind our apartment. Mere feet from where our forgotten book was left for weeks. Coincidence? I think not.

Day 304 is spooky!
Day 303 didn't melt
After being out for most of Sunday, I was surprised to come home and still see snow on the ground! We got a total of about three inches here in Bucks County. Autumn just about disappeared!
Day 302 is an early snow day
What!? Snow, on October 29!? It doesn't feel like autumn. This was truly a bizarre sight as I drove home early this morning. Today will be full of movies, tea and napping. Perfect snow day!
Day 301 decorates cleverly
I pass this house on my way to/from work. They have clever Halloween decorations, that I'm surprised haven't caused a car accident as people stop to look. This was the best shot I could take while stopped at a red light. I can't wait to see their Christmas decorations!
Day 300 gets crafty
For a Halloween party, my friend and I are dressing up as Ghostbusters. Drs. Venkman and Spengler, to be exact. I couldn't be more excited. And we're making our costumes. I went to Home Depot to craft guns to attach to our proton packs, which my friend is making. I can guarentee that I was the only person at Home Depot shopping for a Halloween costume.

Day 299 is so peaceful
Last full day with mom during her visit (sad face) and we finally made our way into downtown Chicago. It took over a week for there to be enough time in our very busy itinerary for this. We did get rained on a bit towards the end of our exploring, but the clouds and the grayness of it all did make for a pretty backdrop. This is Buckingham fountain (now turned off for the winter), with a bit of Chicago in the background. I think next summer I'll be spending a lot of my time here getting work done!
Day 298 isn't from around here
Mom and I went around my hood (obviously my fave thing to do with visitors!) and explored some Wrigley Field a bit. I've never actually seen a game here, but from the outside, it's one of my favorite places. It's so old school and wonderful. The colors and design and setting and everything about it just suggest it doesn't come from a time that I'm familiar with (and it really doesn't), which maybe is why I'm so fascinated by it. But be prepared - if you come to visit me in Chicago and you've never been here, there's a 115% chance we'll take a stroll past Wrigley so you can take it all in for yourself. :)
Day 297 is ON THE RUN!!!!
... well not really. But this sign wanted me to be. Or maybe I wasn't the audience. Either way.... whoa, sign, Whoa. Calm it down a bit. This is at the coffee place that's technically closer to me than Starbucks. But starbucks doesn't assault my senses with agressive signage about soup, ya know?
Day 296 is perfect

Mom and I decided to cap off our very long day of exploring the city with a giant sushi dinner and a movie. It was lovely. After having 2 engagement shoots that day, I was exhausted and it was exactly what I needed. Except really, when is sushi and a quiet night in not exactly what I need? :)
